Leonie Schuur

Project leader “Girls in Scouting”, Scouting Nederland

Netherlands

Leonie was a member of Scouting Netherlands from 1985 till 2001. At the 1991th World Jamboree she felt great about being a member of the worldwide scouting and guiding movement and could not think about not being a scout. Therefore she is really glad about being back at the organization that gave her lots of opportunities to develop herself.
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics at the Higher Professional Business Education and obtaining a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Radboud University she became a grant consultant. Being able to gain grants for different companies she decided to become a project leader at a small communication office. Her last role was a consultant working at the Dutch Chambre of Commerce advising entrepreneurs of SME’s about the challenges they had to face. A couple of years ago she decided to become a entrepreneur herself and she developed different projects, for example giving reinvented organizations a stage, and developing a social enterprise to create more diversity and inclusion in her neighbourhood. Now she is a professional organizer / coach who helps women to reorganize their lives so they are able develop theirselves to their full potential.
Leonie is very passionate about everything she learned at Scouting Netherlands and she wants other girls and women to experience the same. She firmly believes that Scouting helps young girls and women to develop themselves to their full potential and learns them essential skills to become leaders of the future and they are having fun while doing that.
