Kennitra Thompson, is an American native of Jackson, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Jackson State University. She is an accomplished lyrical and contemporary dancer with over 14 years of training. While in high school she attended America’s number one performing arts boarding school- Idyllwild Arts Academy. She has performed In London, England for the Summer 2012 Olympic festivities; and is the proud owner of Studio K LLC. Which is One of the first technically trained African American owned dance studio in her community.
She is a former Miss Black Mississippi USA; Top 10 at Miss Black USA and 2nd Runner up to Miss Teen Cities of America amongst other titles. Kennitra is a survivor of Steven Johnson Syndrome; and a proud brain surgery overcomer and is currently bravely fighting brain cancer. Her personal story of triumph was featured nationally on NBC’s America Now. She is an advocate for Organ Donation, a financial contributor to both St. Jude’s Children’s Miracle Network and the Blair E Batson, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
