Biological Engineering

Ms. Vodehnal is a recent graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a B.S. in Biological Engineering and a concentration in Neurobiology. Originally from Billings, Montana, Kayla has a passion for neuroscience and has conducted research in the labs of Dr. Ed Boyden and Dr. Li-Huei Tsai. Her main focuses are on Alzheimer’s
disease and connectomics research. Outside of academics, Kayla is an avid musician, currently serving as the assistant principal bassist and social chair of the MIT Symphony Orchestra (MITSO) during her fourth year as a member. Additionally, she has played in Boston Symphony Hall with MITSO in March of 2018. Ms. Vodehnal also enjoys spending her free time outdoors, going on hikes, camping, or volunteering with her local conservation corps. Ms. Vodehnal is currently applying for graduate school, where she hopes to obtain her PhD in neuroscience.
