Student, Founder of My Daughter is Precious

India

I’m Kaavya Rajesh, a grade 11 student at the American Embassy School (New Delhi. I studied in Gurgaon at The Shri Ram School for ten years until my family moved to Bangladesh when I was in eighth grade. I attended the American International School in Dhaka and it was a life-changing experience that made me a more open-minded and confident person. I moved back to Delhi last year and the skills I learned through my experiences in Dhaka made the transition into a new school easier. I strongly believe that it’s up to the youth to make the world a better place. Besides being an active member in service initiatives within school, I am also an intern at Design For Change, a global organization that works to inspire children to contribute positively to their communities. I also combined my passion for writing and photography to stand for a cause I really believe in: gender equality and the importance of educating girls. Thus, I started my own initiative, with the support of my parents, called My Daughter Is Precious (https://mydaughterispreciousblog.wordpress.com ) to raise awareness and funds for this cause.
