Jo Thanki is an Inspirational leader who is renowned for her dedication and commitment to social & economic regeneration. An active networker and public speaker with extensive operational and strategic experience across all sectors, she works actively raising the profile of diversity, leadership and the importance of people reaching their potential in our global economy. Jo has been the first Female President of the Hindu Council of Birmingham. She spent her time whilst in office promoting and motivating the Hindu Community in becoming part of the British Civic Life. She personally inspired hundreds of people to join charitable causes and join the field of politics, education and social services. Voluntarily travelling to India to contribute and assist underprivileged women in training and uplifting them economically. Jo has also served two terms as the Chair of the Hindu Womens Network in Birmingham. Working with local women to ensure that their rightful place in the social and political arena. She has delivered a number of conferences around health and social care. She has regularly called for attention to be drawn on women who face sexual harassment on public transport and for victims of Domestic Violence in the Asian Communities. She continues to focus on public sector accountability, community relations and increased support for victims and witnesses of domestic violence crimes.
