Jayshree Padayatchey is a Community Economic Development Expert, Entrepreneurship Specialist, and Micro-franchise Consultant who worked in both international and local NGO’s as well as with Government and in the Private sector across South Africa. She is passionate about developing women into entrepreneurs, specifically within townships, rural areas and informal settlements. She has over 25 years’ experience in community development.
She holds a PG Diploma in Management Practice in Corporate Social Investment from University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, a Certificate in Mobilizing Assets for Community-Driven Development from the Coady Institute in Canada, a Women on Board’s certificate Programme through BPWSA. She held the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Board at the Department of Social Development’s Disaster Management Fund between 2009 & 2014.
She has been nominated as Woman of the Year in Community by Woman of Stature and is one of the top 10 Difference Makers in South Africa!
Her passion to scale and replicate high growth SMME’s has led to the first micro-franchising initiative internationally, where she is currently involved with a 3 year programme (2016-2018) in packaging 15 black owned micro and small businesses into micro franchises.
She is currently completing a programme for the Gauteng Economic Propeller whereby 100 community based women are being trained and supported within 10 co-operative businesses.
