Jayalakshmi has worked as a teacher of English in schools and colleges. She has presented and published papers on various aspects of English Language Teaching. She holds an M.Phil.in English Language Teaching, with B.Ed., MBA and has recently completed her M.Sc. -Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Her academic interests have led to the creation of Open Mindz which is an exclusive English Language Learning center, offering various English courses to young children up to adults. Open Mindz is now going the Franchise route in order to support aspiring Women Entrepreneurs.
Open Mindz has been a facilitator to youngsters by providing the right tools to make their academic life easier and more enjoyable. The Open Mindz programs are dedicated to the upliftment of children to their truest potential in both their personal and academic life. The Open Mindz flagship program is the Intensive Phonics course which is a fool-proof method of getting children to read. Open Mindz follows the Jolly Phonics Methodology along with its own invaluable homegrown teaching techniques.
This unique blended methodology has proven to be extremely beneficial to all children particularly the special children. The latter can grasp the curriculum with simplicity thus creating a sense of confidence that soon paves the way to achievement. Children with learning disabilities seem to benefit vastly form the program and on completion, show the aptitude, willingness and inclination to return in order to join other successive courses.
