Gurpreet Kaur Chadha

Gurpreet Kaur Chadha, fondly known as Preeti is an MBA graduate by qualification, foodie by choice and a caterer by profession. Born and brought up in Hyderabad, she excelled at academics and sports and even went on to be the vice-captain Andhra Pradesh’s handball team. Today, she is happily married with 2 sons and spends her weekdays taking care of her robust food business and weekends binging on movies and painting.
Her professional catering story is the stuff of make-believe. She had taken up the responsibility to cook food for her elder sons birthday 12 years ago which resulted in several business inquiries and in turn a very successful birthday party from a career perspective. Nonetheless, this led to a complete affirmation that this was her true calling. While Preeti and her husband who is a tax consultant sat the very next day and devised a kick-off strategy for this new venture, an unexpected but absolutely welcome call came from a close friend inviting her to meet with certain officials from Infosys to open their outlet in their food court. Though they were up against established caterers and restaurateurs for that coveted spot with several kitchens and chefs at their disposal, Gurpreet took matters into her own hands and whipped up her best batch of stuffed Parathas and unapologetically presented it to Infosys’ board of directors to taste before discussions even began! This unconventional method definitely worked as she bagged the contract and on the very same day. Gurpreet went onto cater to MNC’s such as wipro, verizon, IFMR, McKinsey etc,Institution like Sishya,Chettinad Vidyashram,Babaji Vidyashram etc to set up kitchens in social clubs such as Gandhi Nagar Club and Andhra Social and Cultural Association for several years. Her establishment also catered for the staff, sponsors, and players for the Indian Hockey Team from 2005 – 2008, including being the official food partner of the Sahara Cup and Asia Cup during that time period. On this journey, she and her husband even started a restaurant along the way and now Preeti solely specializes in party and outdoor catering with her base setup in Guru Nanak College, Velachery where she caters for students and hostelites on a daily basis.
