After completing Post Graduation in Hotel Management and Master’s in French Language and Literature, and passing a chequered career of teaching at the Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi I had the privilege of starting a School of French Language at Jodhpur. Wherever my husband was posted it was always my endeavour to keep myself suitably intellectually occupied without compromising my children’s needs.
Thereafter I had the privilege of joining ITC Hotels, a period which gave me great opportunity to put my Hotel Management skills to use. This followed our final transfer to Delhi where I was very fortunate to be employed by the Embassy of France in India where I spent a good 18 years – a period of self growth, realisation and development.
Recently with my husband I have started an Agro based company called the Shyampore Agrobase out of Rishikesh where the focus is R&D to discover lucrative ways of farming for small farmers. As a offshoot of this endeavour I have launched Shyampore Farm Stays, Essential Oils, Organically grown foods and vegetables and a Women’s Cooperative Society which helps the women farmers to unite themselves and achieve a greater sense of self esteem and dignity whilst increasing their revenue.
