Grid, Mini-Grid or No Grid Electrification for Developing Countries?
Given the rapid urbanisation taking place in Africa, Asia and South America, urban and energy planners are faced with many challenges such as access to some form of energy. Renewable energy offers an opportunity to address issues of access however, varying urban fabrics hinder the access. Thus the aim is to explore whether developing countries still need to consider grid connection, or should consider mini-grids or no grids at all. Innovating access to new forms of energy such as solar and waste-to-energy.
