With an academic, industrial and Government experience of more than 32 years, Gayatri is one of the leading experts on CSR in the country. Before starting her own initiative in July, 2019, Gayatri was working with HDFC Life Insurance Company as Associate Vice President handling the company’s CSR, L&D and Sustainability initiatives till June 19. From 2009 to 2018 she was with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs) contributing towards policy advisory service, capacity building and knowledge dissemination initiatives in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.

She has been an integral part of the processes involved in the evolvement of the new legislation on CSR in India. She played a major role in establishing National Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (NFCSR) a unique platform created for Government, Corporates and NGOs for taking up development and sustainable initiatives at a national level.

Gayatri was also involved in the development of National Voluntary Guidelines for Social, Economic and Environmental Responsibilities of business (NVGs) and Business Responsibility Reporting Framework (BRR) that was mandated by SEBI for top 500 companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.

Gayatri is a part of various CSR advisory Committees like CII, Delhi Management Association etc. These are the important platforms to engage industry and jointly arrive at ways to synergize efforts with the Government, institutions, civil society organizations and the community to create a conducive and enabling environment for driving CSR in the country. She has also been conducting regularly workshops and training programmes in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility for various corporate, academia and NGOs.

She is presently a Director to a section 8 Company, Association of Women in Business, an initiative working towards increasing the number of women in business and formal workforce. She also undertakes consulting assignments for various academic institutions, corporate and PSUs advising on CSR and Sustainability.
