Feminist for the climate justice

Women produce more than 80% of food in the world and have less than 2% access to land and property. In charge of the domestic functions related to CARE work (fetching wood, water) they are the more exposed to climate change, migrations and disaster. The Paris agreement on COP 21 included objectives related to gender. However they are still not enough and should nonetheless include a perspective on the future life conditions of women in the upcoming decade. Indeed, by 2030, 70% of world population will be living in urban areas and 2 billions of them in slums (UN figures). A majority of them will be women, more exposed to violence, poverty and scarcity of ressources. The current sustainable development programs therefore urgently need to embrace this unvisible trinagle of “Gender, climate change and urbanization”.
