I am a Delhi based graphic novelist, illustrator and artist. I am a graduate in Visual Communication Design from Srishti School of Art, Bangalore from 2010 and have 9+ years of experience working as a graphic designer and Illustrator, since. I have written and self published my own experimental graphic novel in 2009, had my work exhibited at prominent galleries of the country such as Galerie Mirchandani+Streinrucke of Bombay, worked as the illustrator and graphic designer for Down to Earth magazine and Katha Publication house briefly, worked with various organizations as a freelance graphic designer, done fellowships with Sarai CSDS in Delhi, been published as an illustrator in over 20 books with publication houses such an The Aleph Book Company and Harper Collins, lectured at prominent universities of the country such as the Hyderabad University as a graphic novelist, recently completed a summer residency in illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York and continue to illustrate more shorter graphic novels on subjects that interest me. I have written more than 15 short graphic novels since, and continue to write more. My work as a graphic novelist tries to break the form and content of the conventional graphic novel and mainly explores gender dynamics and the politics of touch through the lens of her own experiences, social constructs such as dignity, normalcy, beauty, madness and modern day relationships. My work desires to create sensitivity, respect and a more equal and beautiful world. I am also pursuing an MA in ‘Design’ from the University for the Creative Arts, London, for which the degree will be awarded in Oct 2022 and am studying/pursuing a certificate course in trauma informed expressive arts therapy currently.
