Dr. Urvashi Makkar

Dr. Urvashi Makkar is an enterprising academician with an enriching experience of 23 years in the field of education, research, training & consultancy. A visionary in the perspective of transforming Management Institutions by her unmatched leadership in Organizational Development, her continuous perseverance in improving Academic Quality and Research Orientation, Building Global Interface, Developing Entrepreneurial Culture, Improving Corporate Linkage and Creating Performance Oriented Work Culture has been instrumental for G.L. Bajaj Institute of Management & Research to reinvent Management Education.
Dr. Makkar, a Ph.D., EPHRM-IIM Calcutta, holds the certification of “Harvard University Leadership Program” from Harvard University – School of Education, Boston, USA. She has to her credit ten books published by renowned publishing houses, including TATA McGraw Hill and more than 76 publications with paper presentations across National & International conferences and seminars. She has chaired technical sessions at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA, Universities Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia, IIT-Bombay, IIM-Ahmedabad, IIT-Kanpur, IIM-Kozhikode, amongst other institutes of global repute.
Accorded as ‘Trainer Associate & Local Coordinator’ for UGC sponsored workshops on Capacity Building for Women Managers in Higher Education, she has conducted more than 50 EDPs/MDPs and Workshops. She has been decorated with the Excellence Award for Academic Leadership to Director General, at the 18th National Management Summit by Fore-Top Rankers. She has been conferred with the ‘Women Leadership Award for Promotion of Responsible Management Education’ by Canara Bank School of Management Studies (CBSMS), Bangalore University, National Women Excellence Award in November, 2017 at India International Center, New Delhi and “Leading Women in Education Award” to the Director General, GLBIMR at the 7th Annual Women Leaders in India & Awards, in February 2017. She received the “Eminent Director of Leading Institutes of India Award” by Competition Success Review for two consecutive years 2016 & 2016. Center for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) awarded her with the prestigious “Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar” in 2014. She also received “Confederation of Education Excellence Teachers’ Award 2014” in the Higher Education Category.
