Dr. Sudha Sahay received her basic education in plant and microbial biotechnology. She did her M.Sc. in Botany, Ph.D. in Plant Biotechnology, and Post-Doctorate (DAAD) in Plant Molecular Biology. She has been working in various industries like Concord Biotech Ltd. and Abellon Clean Energy, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, at senior scientific positions. She has established many standard protocols in her field, such as methods for the enhancement of Pneumocandin B0 and mycophenolic acid production, mass production of microalgae in tubular photobioreactors for the production of biodiesel, etc. Beside industries, she has also been working in research organizations such as Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute (SPRERI), Anand, and the Loyola Centre for Research and Development (LCRD), Xavier Research Foundation (XRF), Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, where she was associated with many projects related to the bio-conversion of solid and liquid waste to bioenergy (e.g., biogas and bioethanol production) and microalgae-based biodiesel production as Principal Investigator. She was also associated with many other projects related to plant tissue culture and the phytochemistry of medicinal plants to screen for antimicrobial and antioxidant activity. She has around 40 publications to her credit, in national and international journals and books.
