Dr. Shankar Jagannathan

Shankar is currently at the Boston Consulting Group as the Global Head of the BCG Omnia Software Business. In this position, he is directly responsible for leading the Software Products Business, driving a growth-focused P&L extending BCG’s IP with advanced SaaS-based enterprise software incorporating proprietary algorithms and analytics. Most recently, Shankar was Chief Product Officer at AirFusion, a seed-stage startup, where he helped build a SaaS-based industrial inspections platform using AI-based image recognition. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer at WorkWave (now part of IFS), a leading SaaS provider of cloud-based Field Management & Route Automation software. He was also Vice President of Products for the Advanced Software Division at EMC Corporation, responsible for all of infrastructure management software portfolio. Shankar came to EMC from McKinsey & Company, where he was a core member of the High-Tech Practice within the Firm. Shankar holds multiple patents, an MBA in Finance, and a Ph.D. in control systems. He and his wife, Vani, are avid Boston sports fans, and love to listen to classical music and travel with their son, Varun, and daughter, Riya who both graduated from, and hold fond memories of, the NEC Prep School.
