Dr. Sadrita is an Assistant Professor at Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli (BIM Trichy) after completing her M.S. and Ph.D. from Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Area of expertise
Her broad area of research interest includes corporate finance, financial governance, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. Her works aim to contribute to the conceptual and empirical understanding of accounting or corporate scandals, the effects of governance factors on business and society, and the emerging areas of finance. Her research focuses on financial issues relevant to broader policy and managerial implications in an emerging economy.
She has won awards at national and international conferences for her research work. She has also published in peer-reviewed journals, newsletters, and business newspapers in her research area.
Teaching area
Dr. Sadrita’s teaching expertise includes Financial Accounting and Analysis, Corporate Finance, Audit & Corporate Governance, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Research Methodology.
At BIM Trichy, she is a faculty-in-charge of the Financial and Analytics Lab (FinTrac) and is the faculty coordinator of the course Financial Trading Lab. She is also the faculty-in-charge of the Research Incubation Program at BIM, Trichy.
Educational Qualification
Dr. Sadrita has a strong educational background in accounting and finance. She completed her M.S. in Finance from Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur followed by Ph.D. from the same institution. She is also an Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), India.
Other activities
Dr. Sadrita works as a volunteer core team member of a youth-led emotional health peer collective, As You Like It, and passionately works towards creating a network of solidarity of individuals battling stress, anxiety, or mental health issues. She is also spearheading a campaign with her friend, Sayani and Sreejani that aims to create awareness through peer collectives among the youth in academic institutions towards mental health. Their campaign is concentrated out of suburban areas in West Bengal, where the young college individuals come from diverse walks of life and lack the right agency or resources. The campaign is a part of Haiyya’s, campaign incubator program.
Future course of actions
Dr. Sadrita’s professional goals include being a dedicated academician, keen researcher, an enthusiastic and avid learner. She intends to grow with her passion for traveling and reading along with being a responsible individual of the society.
