Dr. Lipika Sharma is a law professional with 22 years plus experience who combines excellent international consulting and project management experience with teaching, training, and is making contributions to thought and practice in legal aspects of climate change, Disaster Risk Reduction and gender equality law. She is legal practitioner and advocate at Supreme Court of India and is a corporate trainer in the area of Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the workplace with extensive knowledge and publications in Indian and international law and experienced University Professor from undergraduate to doctorate level.
She has advised UN Women, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on empowering women in climate, environment, and disaster risk governance and reduction and gender Justice as a Legal Consultant. She worked as Managing Editor (Asia Pacific) Australia with Legal Publisher Wolters Kluwer. She has also worked as consultant and head of the department with CCIM and Statutory body under Ministry of AYUSH.
She specializes in Environmental Law and Intellectual Property Rights. Due to excellence in academics. She was conferred Indo-Asian Teaching Excellence Award 2020 in the field of “Climate Change and Environmental Law” and “Best Women Educator in Innovative Law Teaching” at National Education Excellence Award, 2017 in association with the United Nations Global Compact.
She authored books on Green Intellectual Property and Climate Change Mitigation techniques: Road Ahead (June 2021), “Intellectual Property Rights in Economic Growth: Prospects and Challenges” (July 2021), Environment Law for beginners (2019) for All India Reporter, and “Geographical Indications in India: Practice and Procedure” Lambert, German Academic Publisher (2017) to mention a few. She has authored 4 chapters in Books and more than 25 published articles in SCOPUS and various International National and UGC CARE journals of repute.
She is conferred Ph.D. in the area of Climate Change Law. As an Alumni of Delhi University, she holds an excellent academic record of getting the top positions in the University in both masters i.e., Masters in Political Science and Masters in Law. She has gained knowledge through various diplomas from institutions of international and national repute i.e., Certificate course on ‘Introduction to Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific’2021 December, Certificate course on ‘Green Investments: Renewable Energy” from Asian Development Bank Institute, December 2021. And certificate course on ‘Understanding Gender, Inequality, intersectionality, social action: Feminist Perspective, HP University. She holds a Diploma in Corporate Law from Indian Law Institute, Environment Law WWF-IGNOU, and a certificate course in Intellectual Property Rights from Indian Law Institute.
