I have done my MBBS, D.A & MD in Anaesthesiology from T.N.Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital – Mumbai. After passing my MD in 1987 I entered private practice in Anesthesia specialising in Labour Anesthesia.
After being in clinical practice of Anaesthesiology in the Western Suburbs between Bandra to Andheri for 27 years, in 2011-12 I did my PG Program in Healthcare Management, which is a course in Healthcare Management for working professionals – PGP-HCM from Welingkar Institute of Management Development Research Mumbai, which is a premier Business School in the country. I passed the course with Distinction and was the Batch topper for the Year.
After doing my PGP-HCM, I joined ACHARYASHRI NANESH HOSPITAL at CBD Belapur as CEO. It was a green field project & I set up the entire hospital including Designing, Staffing, Setting up all the Departments, putting in place the SOP’s as per NABH guidelines and getting it Operational.
After a successful stint at Acharyashri Nanesh Hospital, I joined as a Senior Medical Superintendent at Seven Hills Hospital , Marol, Andheri East, I left from there as Vice President – Medical Services and joined Fortis Healthcare Ltd as the Regional Medical Director of the South & West Region in 2016. In my capacity of the Regional Medical Director of South & West Region of Fortis Healthcare I was directly overseeing the Clinical Services of their 4 Units in the Mumbai Region, 4 Units in Bangalore & 2 Units in Chennai.
I joined S.L.Raheja Hospital a Fortis Associate as CEO from October 2018
I believe that Healthcare should be universal & affordable to all the sections of the society. Quality, Safety, Ethics & Empathy should be the guiding principles in running any Healthcare Institution.
Me and my wife Dr. Rekha along with our friends Dr Aradhana & Dr Parag Sheth run a Senior Citizen Daytime Centre – “Varista” at Santacruz West. It is a charitable venture for lonely senior citizens & those with early Alzeimers, Parkinsonism or infirm elderly people to spend some quality time in their twilight period. We are also Registered Foster Parents with The Family Service Centre, a govt. organization for looking after abandoned infants in our residence till they are legally adopted.
