Dr. Giti Chandra is currently an Affiliated Scholar at the United Nations University – Gender Studies and Training Programme, Reykjavik. She has been teaching at the Faculty of English Literature, and the General Literatures Department, University of Iceland over the last two years, and was Associate Professor at the Dept of English, St Stephen’s College, Delhi. She has taught in and been a fellow at Rutgers University, New Jersey, from where she did her Doctoral work. She is the author of “Women’s Narratives of Violence and Collective Identities: To witness these wrongs unspeakable” (Macmillan UK/US: 2009), and has published various articles and papers, etc.
Dr Chandra has served as Chairperson of the St Stephen’s College Complaints Committee and Advisor to the College Gender Sensitisation Committee; she has also served as the External Expert on the Committee against Workplace Harassment at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
Giti Chandra has spent much of her life as a functioning musician and choral conductor, and is the author of The Book of Guardians Trilogy (Hachette India, 2010, 2013).
