Dr. Caroline Richards

Clinical Psychologist

UK

Dr Caroline Richards is a Clinical Psychologist and researcher at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on reducing negative clinical outcomes for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work with children with autism and children with rare genetic syndromes has thus far focused on reducing self-injury, improving sleep disorders and understanding the impact of premature birth. Her research uses experimental, epidemiological, single case and meta-analytic techniques to identify risk markers, improve precision in models of mechanism and develop novel, proactive interventions. My previous speaking engagements have been undertaken in front of the toughest audience in the world – my four children. Maintaining my sense of humour, calmness and compassion in the face of their tireless questions and unlimited minds have honed my skills for my next clients.
