Employment :
a. Joined as Assistant Director , NIPCCD, in 1983 and eventually promoted to the post of Deputy Director and the Regional Director
b. As NIPCCD Faculty was posted in Lucknow, Delhi and Guwahati.
c. Served as State Consultant ,Early Childhood Education of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan ( Education for All Mission), Assam for four years ( 2003-07)
4. Experience :
a. Organised more than 100 training programmes, seminars and workshops on different issues relating to women and children
b. As State Consultant of Early Childhood Education helped Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan,Assam in framing several policies for strengthening pre-school component. Developed training module on ECE. Prepared Training Guidelines for conducting training at the district and project level for teachers, block and district officials and monitoring tool for review of ECEcomponent. Made extensive tour to the districts of Assam to supervise and monitor training and also the implementation of ECE programme in the schools.
c.As Regional Director of NIPCCD Regional centre took care of all planning and execution of academic, administrative and financial matters of the institute.
d.Carried out all work relating to ECCE curriculum planning and preparation for all the eight states of N.E. including the carrying out the pilot study in Assam during 2011-2014.
5. Research:

a. Child care practices in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh (1983-86)
b. Child Rearing practices in the N.E. region ( 1989-92)
c. Child Rearing practices and developmental status of children in some tribal communities
of Assam ( 1987 -92)
d. Food habits and growth pattern of children in the ecological context of Arunachal
Pradesh ( 1999-2001)
e. A study of Children’s Institutions of Assam ( 2009-2012)
f. Impact of ECE on socialization and school learning ( 2011-2016)
g. Services for HIV affected children of N.E. Region ( 2014-2016)
ii) guided faculty of NIPCCD , Guwahati in their research projects during 2008-2016
6. Publication :
Authored “ Child Development in Tribal Areas “ ( Anmol publication , New Delhi,1999) ; a story book for children ( in Assamese) . Contributed many articles , papers in several books, journals.
7. Interest : Women and children issues in general and issues relating to adolescent girls, early childhood education , disability, empowerment of girls and women in particular.
