Dr. Ayesha Farooq is Professor of Management at the Department of Business Administration, at Aligarh Muslim University, for last twenty three years. Ayesha hails from Dibai, a small town of Uttar Pradesh.
Professor Farooq’s research articles have been published in SCOPUS indexed and ABDC journals and has contributed at academic events in UK (University of Cambridge), France, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Malaysia. Ayesha is a resource person to the Cadbury Centre, University of Birmingham and created video content for them and other management schools on different aspects of strategic management. Ayesha was awarded the 2013 Netherlands Fellowship at the Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands. She has led and conducted management development programs (MDPs) on strategic management at AIMA and workshops on leadership & total quality management. She has presented papers at international and national conferences.
Dr Farooq is passionate about sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment. She is the recipient and lead on the large-scale project by the Ministry of Textile, Government of India, of Rs. 1.32 crores, for training of local crafts persons and artisans. Implementing her commitment on gender justice issues Ayesha works as nodal faculty, Gender Champion Scheme of the national Ministry of Human Resources Development. She is the recipient of the 2021 Women Icon Award by Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation) Aligarh; Pentagon Excellence Award by Zakir Hussain Foundation Aligarh, and 1000 Women of Asia Award by Womennovator, India.
