Dr. Aarthi Aishwarya Devendran
Dr. Aarthi Aishwarya Devendran completed her Bachelors in Geo-Informatics from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India. She did her Masters in Environmental and Geomatic Engineering from Politecnico Di Milano, Como, Italy. She earned her doctorate from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India in Urban Growth Modeling using Cellular Automata based Machine Learning Techniques. She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Built Environment and
Energy Technology, Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden. She has 7+ years of research experience in the field of urban geoinformatics, climate change analysis, spatio-temporal change analysis and modeling using Cellular Automata and machine learning techniques. She has expertise in database management, map reading and environmental modeling using machine learning techniques. Her research expertise includes interactions between climate change and energy efficiency of buildings in urban areas, identifying the impact of
urban development on the thermal environment of cities contributing to climate change and the application of GIS in the circular economy of solid waste management of cities using multi-source multi-temporal remote sensing data.
