Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, Chairman & CEO of IKP Knowledge Park, is responsible for developing the first Life Science Research Park in India at Genome Valley, Hyderabad, and establishing a sustainable innovation cluster around a science park. She pioneered a Hardware Product Incubator and Makerspace, IKP-Engineering Design & Entrepreneurship Network (IKP EDEN), in Bangalore to fuel the maker movement in India and works with global and Indian partners to nurture and fund over 250 innovators and early startups. IKP won the National Entrepreneurship Award 2017 for Incubation and Mentorship from the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. After brief stints as faculty in electronics engineering at BITS, Pilani and as writer of science material for children, Deepanwita joined the telecom advisory practice of ICICI Bank in 1994. She advised both government and the private sector on telecom regulation & policy, convergence issues, market forecasts and entry strategies. She was deputed as CEO of IKP in 2001. Deepanwita Chattopadhyay is the Founder Chairman of Support Elders Pvt. Ltd. She is the President of IKP EDEN and a Director on the Board of IKP Trust and IKP Investment Management Company. She is a Governing Body member of the National Institute of Immunology, Lucknow Biotech Park, Society for Technology Managers, NCR Biotech Science Cluster and TiE Hyderabad Chapter, and member of several national and state government committees.
