Cristina Callejas Campo is a Colombian journalist with more than 12 years of experience in Direction of Communication Offices, crisis management, media management, public relations, and design of communication strategies. She has experience designing strategies specific to the interests of different organizations and entities oriented to the dissemination of institutional objectives. In addition, she obtained the Journalism and Democracy scholarship at the Fojo Institute in Sweden and she completed a Diploma in Responsible Journalism Amidst Armed Conflicts. Her areas of expertise include communication strategies for natural resource management, digital tools for investigative journalism, and coverage of armed conflicts, among others.
Cristina also worked as an investigative journalist and covered the Colombian armed conflict for several years. After her extensive career in the public and private sectors, she decided to leave her comfort zone and obtained a Master’s degree in Development Studies and Management. Her Master’s final work was done on cooperativism and associativity in the post-conflict period.
She is an entrepreneur focusing on consulting, writing, editing books, and traveling, which is her greatest passion. She writes about the experiences of women around the world and publishes their stories on the Bepow portal, which is dedicated to women’s empowerment.
Today, she is the President of the Board of Directors of the Corporación Tejido Humano from Colombia and she is an ambassador for the She is Foundation. Cristina is also a volunteer for the Empoderarte Corporation and a member of the Network of Women Leaders of the Americas. The most recent recognition she has received is the Iconic Women Creating a Better World for All Award, Women Economic Forum, Egypt 2020.
