CEO at Jackson & Associates Legal Nurse Consultants, LLC.

Cherissa Jackson is a passionate and determined author, speaker, single mother of twin daughters, ambassador and advocate for patients and Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress. Her 23 years of active duty military service and 10 years as an Air Force Nurse surviving 3 combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan has motivated her to help eliminate the stigma associated with PTSD. As a “Hall of Famer” from SHEROES United Organization, Cherissa recently visited Rome, Italy to coordinate collaboration with the Vatican, the Nation of Congo and the city of Amatrice, Italy.

Cherissa created PTSFaces.TV, a non-profit organization, and PTS Voices to teach and coach key principles to help those suffering from PTSD. She details those principles in her best selling book “At Peace Not In Pieces”. She describes her struggles of coping with PTSD, recovering from financial ruins after a divorce, and failed relationships very honestly and genuinely. Her quest to motivate, inspire and encourage her readers, and clients exudes in every chapter. Many have said they saw themselves in her book and felt very connected and compelled to live successful lives.

Often in speaking engagements, Cherissa talks about how she compartmentalized her emotions. She recalls re-bandaging charred bodies and inhaling the smell of burned skin and watching injured soldiers with amputated limbs emerge from helicopters were a part of her daily work. She decided to retire after a near death experience in her last deployment to Afghanistan. She was haunted by the memories from her deployments and suffered from increased anxiety and later diagnosed with PTSD. With a few months on prescribed medications, continued exercise, meditation, and her spirituality, she was able to conquer her PTSD. She stands today as “America’s Combat Nurse powering through her PTSD one day at a time”.

Cherissa’s infectious energy to help others and her huge heart to fight for patients as a Patient Advocate radiates in everything she does. She is not just a survivor but also a fighter, a conqueror, and an ambassador for change. Her appearances in magazines and radio interviews don’t capture her true essence. Her passion and living in her divine purpose touches everyone she reaches. She wants everyone to be “At Peace Not in Pieces” and live life to the fullest with no regrets.

Cherissa is also the CEO of Jackson & Associates Legal Nurse Consultants, LLC.
