Chayya is a blogger, writer and Broadcast Journalist from London, UK. She has seven years’ worth of experience working across print, digital, broadcast, video and radio.
Chayya has been an avid reader and writer from a young age; she cites Matilda by Roald Dahl as being one of her biggest influences in terms of how she sustained her creativity into adulthood.
She is also passionate about women’s rights and how ethnic/racial identity evolves and adapts in different Diasporas. Her blog, Avid Scribbler, which was set up in 2012 talks about the malleable nature of South Asian identity in the UK.
She won a national award in media category.
It was from the Women of the Future Awards whose patron is Cherie Blair (wife of former British PM Tony Blair) and the Countess of Wessex is one of their ambassadors.
Outside of her job, Chayya does a lot of outreach work with local schools and gives talks/workshops about human rights, career advice and how technology can complement creativity.
