Carla Budjhawan is a freelance event Organizer. She is an Indian descent from Suriname living in the Netherlands, and culturally very close to India. She has worked closely with top event companies and assisted in setting up their Offices. She is passionate about empowering others, in particular women. Her mission is to support those with disadvantage by giving them training to improve their knowledge, and to deal with the challenges they face in their daily work.

During 1996 Carla took time away from home and work to spend working at children school in Nepal and India and engaged with local activities to understand the culture. During her stay in Kathmandu Nepal, Carla had the privilege to meet Anuradha Koirala, a Nepalese social activist and the founder and director of Maiti Nepal – a non-profit organization in Nepal, dedicated to helping victims of sex trafficking. Anuradha Koirala has been awarded the CNN Hero of year 2010.

In India she travelled to Dheradun, where she met with Vandana Shiva, she is an Indian scholar, environmental activist and anti-globalization author. In Calcutta she met Mother Teresa known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta.

She continues to work closely with international organizations, in India, Nepal, Tibet and The Netherlands, whose mission is to empower women to take control of their lives and fulfill their dreams. She like to share her knowledge and experiences with people from different cultures. Carla with her effective communicative skills, connects easily with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Carla is a professional event planner. She also holds a BCS in ITIL Service Management.
