Bela Nawka is an accomplished and experienced social worker, from Guwahati, Assam. She has worked her way up from being a modest housewife to a confident, outgoing and self reliant woman of today. While executing her family role perfectly, she also empowered herself to gain self-dependence by working as a manager in Tupperware for fourteen years. Simultaneously she carved out time to serve society and has been in this field for the past twenty years. She concentrates on motivating humble housewives to emerge from the fireplace and gain exposure to the world outside. She inspires them to achieve economic independence and build their identities. She received the “Tupper Ratna Emerald Award” at Hyderabad, for creating an impact in changing lives of women. She has served as President of Lioness Club of Gauhati Greater for three terms, President of Marwari Yuva Manch Kamakhya Branch, is presently Joint Secretary of Heart Care Society of Assam, and a founder member of FLO North East. She loves to meet and interact with women who have created a niche for themselves the hard way.
