Art is an essential part of Baigali Ochkhuu’s life. She began playing the violin as a child, and studied the instrument at the University of Culture and Art.
While studying, she participated successfully in numerous international and domestic competitions, and played about 400 solo and ensemble musical compositions by both Mongolian and international composers.
“I started my musical career by playing a modern-style interpretation of the song, ‘I Love You’ by composer Jantsannorov. I’m now working to release an album that combines compositions like ‘Ulaanbaatar’s Night’ by Purevdorj and ‘Happy New Year’ by ABBA,” she says.
In 2004, while at university, Baigali was awarded the ‘Leader Student’ medal, and then in 2006 she began her Masters in Business Administration at the Finance and Economy University.
She chose ‘Improving the Management of the Classical Arts’ as her research theme so that she could make a contribution to development of the artform she loves.
“The arts sector should continue to develop in line with the increasing needs and demands of its customers,” Baigaili says. Well placed as both a performer and manager, she plans to release her own work and also work with others in the arts sector.
“I want to work with the thousands of youngsters who have dedicated their hearts and souls to art.”
