Araceli is interested in the practical and technical application of knowledge. Her purpose for seeking a Doctoral Degree in Education is to gain knowledge about theory and research methods to create real-world and relevant solutions to ongoing educational issues pertinent to minority, low-income and first generation college students. She is looking to drive systematic change in education by furthering research on access and retention strategies for minority students in higher education Araceli approach to education is entrepreneurial by trying to improve education systems and working in higher education administration. She is interested in developing skills in research, problem solving and theory. Her life motto is a statement by Cesar Chavez, “We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community. Araceli ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspiration and needs of others”.
