Her journey as an African immigrant made my experience first-hand the huge cultural and economic gap existing between African and Western Societies and how the gap negatively impacted their interactions. It is with the aim of helping bridge that gap that she decided to create a Company dedicated to promoting cultural understanding, dialogue, increase trade and investment, and strategic partnerships for mutual benefit.Humanitarian at heart, Tonie strongly believe that helping people is not done through handouts but by empowering communities through promoting business and entrepreneurship. It is with the aim and to further her dedication to gender equality and children rights advocacy that she founded Women’s Initiatives Network, a not for profit organization based in the Netherlands.Ms Mutesa considers herself as an Afro realistic and an activist who has chosen fighting poverty as a way to advocate for justice for all. Often asked about the motivation that drives her, she simply answers that her passion comes from her own path as a Women from Sub Saharan Africa who has been victim of Conflict. Her journey taught her that sacrifices, hard work and perseverance are the keys for reaching one’s dreams, regardless of one’s circumstances.
