Anoma Jayawickrema is a mother of four who has developed many facets to her career over the years. She has a first degree in Biology from University of Edinburgh & a M. Phil in Development Studies from IDS, University of Sussex.
She worked for a number of international development agencies and is now a consultant on sustainable development & gender strategy.
Whilst she is a firm advocate of gender equality, she also believes that the power women have is in owning their femininity, without apology, with self love, courage & confidence.. She believes that the strength women have is in spreading love & understanding and it is these qualities which define a truly powerful person.
She is a serial entrepreneur who runs a florist www.ladyflora.co.uk and a property investment firm, Glad Homes and is always on the lookout for new opportunities.
She has been doing Sahaja Yoga meditation on a daily basis for nearly 30 years and has found it to be of immense benefit. www.sahajayoga.org Sahaja Yoga itself was founded by a woman, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi and is now practiced in over 120 countries. www.shrimataji.org It uses the power of the feminine energy , the Kundalini, to bring love & real peace to all by starting with the inner transformation of individuals.
