Entrepreneur, Investment banker turned world record breaking Adventurer and Environment Advocate
Shilpika Gautam is an India born, global living, world record breaking adventurer for Purpose. After a decade of creating and running international investment banking and FinTech consulting businesses, she is now focusing her entrepreneurial energies in India. She is a passionate advocate for 'doing good better' , the environment and the empowerment of women. She holds an engineering degree in Computer Science, a masters in Business and is an ambassador for WaterAid.
In January 2017 Shilpika became the first ever person to Stand Up Paddleboard the entire length of the river Ganga in India, source to sea. This 3000 km , 101 day expedition called GangesSUP was undertaken to empower a more inclusive and authentic environmental conversation, as well as to highlight the challenges around better gender parity.
In the process, Shilpika broke the existing world record for the longest every stand up paddled distance by a female in one journey. This experience also inspired Shilpika's move back to India- to channel her finance, technology and entrepreneurial experience to create businesses for social impact.
Shilpika's story has been widely covered by the BBC, TV and Media outlets in India and will soon be airing on Discovery Channel.
