SHAMILA RAMJAWAN FOUNDER CEO FAMRAM SOLUTIONS AND FOUNDER OWNER OF THE PRINCESSD MENSTRUAL CUP Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa she moved to Gauteng, South Africa in 2002 due to career advancements Shamila was employed in the Marketing and Communications Industry for over two decades and acquired vast experience and knowledge in her field of expertise She occupied senior management roles in various organisations and also represented these organisations at Board level Her qualifications include Public Relations Diploma P R P from the Pietermaritzburg Technical College, Marketing Diploma from Unisa, BTech Marketing degree from Unisa, MBA from Unisa Business School SBL in 2011, Management Development Programme MDP certificate from GIBS, Leadership Development Programme LDP certificate from the Standard Bank Global Leadership GLC, published author:- Her book – Marketing tools and strategies was published in July 2013, Certificate through Unisa Department of Psychology in 2015 in Capacity Building, focusing on rural areas. obtained distinctions. She is busy with her Phd. She values the relationships she builds through networking and the interaction with stakeholders at various levels. Her successes are fundamentally aligned with strategic objectives being personal and business. She has two registered companies Famram Solutions marketing and communications solutions and Famram Foundation, empowering, uplifting and providing CSI solutions enhancing socio-economic development. She encourages funding and sponsorships for educational programmes resources and products from government and corporates that decisively impacts the quality of lives in rural communities as she believes that we have the power to make a sustainable contribution to socio-economic development in South Africa. Her current award winning project is the PrincessD Menstrual Cup Having worked with communities for over a decade she realised there was a dire need to research the menstrual cup as a sustainable solution for menstruation because girls in deep rural areas miss school for up to 5 days in a month. Early in 2016 she launched the brand After launching she found that its an essential product for girls and women everywhere because it is cost-effective, eco-friendly and hygienic. To date the product has been accepted very well in the marketplace and there has been lots of brand exposure. Utilising her marketing expertise the PrincessD Menstrual Cup Facebook page has over 65 000 followers. Through the amazing life-changing product she created numerous jobs in South Africa and Africa now has a global footprint with stockists in South Africa Namibia Botswana Swaziland Ghana Lesotho Mozambique and the Philippines. The product is stocked by 50 retailers and her biggest clients so far are the Kalapeng Pharmacy Group where it is stocked in 25 pharmacies in Mpumalanga Polokwane and Gauteng and Accolades in 2016 she was a semi-finalist in the Emerging Entrepreneur Category of the South African Council for Business Women Competition. On the 5 August 2016 she was chosen as one of 50 women to receive the Panache Woman of Wonder WOW award. She was a finalist in the Margaret Hirsch Achiever of the Year. She was a nominee in the Woman Real Architects of Society Special Award for the Unsung Heroine Category. This is where she met Caster Semenya. She acquired Caster as a co-owner of Famram Solutions and a Brand Ambassador of PrincessD Menstrual Cup which is a division of Famram Solutions. She is person with a positive mindset that tries to motivate and inspire people on a daily basis. She launched a Facebook page called Motivational Quotes by Shamila Ramjawan in May 2016 and currently have over 25000 followers on the page. She is a hard-worker and does not give up easily when trying to achieve her goals. She is a driven dynamic and energetic person who continuously thinks out of the box and her purpose is to make a difference in peoples lives. Her motto is The sky is the limit Dream Big.
