With around a decade’s experience, Nilambaree’s creativity stands strong with the background of designing and executing number of landscape projects across the country. Her experience has given her a perfect blend of skill-sets that includes ingenuity with technicality. Her expertise include landscape designing, master planning and landscape execution management. She has been involved in diverse projects that includes residential, commercial, hospitality, golf course, master planning, infrastructure and research.
After completing architecture for Pune University and Masters in Landscape Architecture from the prestigious CEPT University at Ahmedabad, she has worked at leadership positions with various top organizations.
She has worked as key landscape designer for Aamby Valley City for more than four years where she has worked on the diverse kinds of projects.
Her role there was demanding the designs that are suitable to the terrains of Sahyadris. Nilambaree competently handled more than 90 projects of various scales starting from quarter acre villa landscapes to 100 acres of master planning developments for which she was highly appreciated by the management and the clients of Aamby valley city for her hard-work, efficiency and commitment.
Nilambaree has also worked as landscape lead with DLF golf course at Gurgaon which is one of the high end golf courses of the country. She has worked along with Terrence Riordan as execution head, Sir Gary Player as golf course consultant and GCH Seattle as consulting landscape architects for the project. There she also worked for DLF phase 5 infrastructure developments as DLF’s landscape designer.
Her most recent association was with a Sydney based design studio- HBO+EMTB as associate director where she was heading the landscape design team for the organization’s India operations. Here her role necessitated designing and controlling few of the top residential developments in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Being on directorial position she also handled business development, finances, contracts and human resourcing for the organization.
This strong background welcomed Nilambaree to step into the independent landscape practice. Her previous repute in the professional domain immediately made her receive few challenging and prestigious projects across the country. During past three years, she has provided her consultancy to the projects by some of the most renowned organizations and have already executed few significant projects capably.
Besides this, Nilambaree has been working for numerous government and non-government organizations as landscape advisory. She has lately prepared a research and development report for the tribal tourism and forest conservation projects for tourism and forest departments of Dadra-Nagar Haveli.
She is also been appointed by an American infrastructure NGO- Embarq to review their urban development proposals for Mumbai, Bangalore and Naya Raipur. She has been a part of ECOSTEPS initiatives taken by Science and Technology Park, Pune to create green urbanscape policies for the government. Nilambaree has conceptualized the Eastern Free-way and Bandra Kurla Complex’s urbanscapes for MMRDA. She is also voluntarily consulting a couple of army establishments.
Academics being a keen interest, Nilambaree is also involved in teaching landscape design to 3rd year architecture students at Rachana Sansad’s Academy College of Architecture and L S Raheja School of Architecture as visiting faculty since past few years. She has always been profound to bring in the unconventional ideas of teaching which received a great response from the students as well as from the institutes.
Nilambaree was on The Jury Panel for ISOLA Trophy for 58th Annual NASA Convention (National Association of Students of Architecture) which was held in Surat, Gujarat. She has recently taken up the responsibly of being a core faculty for the first master’s program in landscape in Mumbai which is starting at L. S. Raheja School of Architecture.
Nilambaree’s diverse involvements with novel and applied concepts are giving her a distinct appreciation in the profession.
