Betty DeVita serves as Chief Commercial Officer of MasterCard Labs. In this role, DeVita is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships focused on commercializing existing and future pipeline MasterCard Labs assets. Examples of current Labs innovations being commercialized include Qkr! with MasterPass and Groceries by MasterCard.
Prior to this role, DeVita served as president, MasterCard Canada. There she oversaw all aspects of the company’s operations, including regional strategy, business development, acceptance expansion, operations, regulatory, marketing and product introductions with a mandate for continued growth and innovation.
Before joining MasterCard in September 2010, Ms. DeVita served as chairman and CEO of Citibank Canada for three years where she led the franchise and its 5,000 employees with accountability across all lines of business. She previously worked in Citibank divisions in Latin America, the U.S. and Asia. She also served on the Executive Council of the Canadian Bankers Association and in 2014 was inducted into the Women’s Executive Network Hall of Fame as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women.
Ms. DeVita holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in New York and is a graduate of the CEO Certificate program at Wharton-KMA in Seoul, South Korea. She earned the Institute of Corporate Directors certification from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and has served on multiple boards /committees. She is currently the chair of the Ted Rogers business school advisory council at Ryerson University; in May 2016 has joined the board of MolsonCoors as an independent director.
