Ameera Ismail, MD, is an established American Board-Certified Neuroradiologist, received her medical degree from the University of Alexandria in Egypt. She went on to complete a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in neuroradiology at the University of Iowa.
She specializes in advanced MRI and CT imaging of the head, neck, brain and spine, and has extensive experience with US and CT guided biopsies of the head and neck. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and presentations.
Dr.Ismail has established the neuroimaging section in the Neuroscience Center at her institute. She introduced state of the art acute stroke imaging and cutting edge technology in imaging brain tumors as well as other debilitating neurological conditions. She is currently involved in several clinical research studies.
Dr. Ismail is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, the Spine Intervention Society, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiological Society of North America.
Egypt is the homeland of Dr. Ismail, although the united States of America is her current beloved home, she never seams to forget her love for Egypt. Her philanthropic work supports projects in Egypt including but not limited to; the Egypt Cancer Network, the Darwish Pediatrics hospital, and Magdi Yacoub Global heart Foundation.
