Amardeep is a partner in Trowers & Hamlins’ Public Sector Commercial department and the managing partner of Trowers & Hamlins’ Birmingham office.
Amardeep advises the public, private and voluntary sectors on a range of commercial projects specifically concentrating on public/private partnerships, outsourcings, joint ventures, shared services initiatives, trading companies and PFI/PF2 procurement. He has spent time working in the in-house legal departments of both public and private sector clients, advising specifically on procurement and bidding strategies.
Amardeep has advised on complex large scale projects in the outsourcing, education, regeneration, leisure, aviation and housing sectors. He is also actively involved in the Smart Cities agenda and assisting clients on the impact of the devolution agreements currently being agreed.
Amardeep is currently advising a number of public and private clients on commercial ventures, outsourcings, strategic partnerships, contract variations, legacy PFI projects and a variety of shared service initiatives. He also advises clients on a range of legal issues associated with these projects including state aid, vires, the establishment of companies, EU procurement law and opportunities to commercialise services.
The Legal 500 2016 and Chambers and Partners’ Guide to the Legal Profession 2016 have recognised Amardeep’s work in the fields of Local Government and Education. Legal 500 and Chambers state that Amardeep is valued by clients for being “extremely knowledgeable”, “strategic minded” and for his “understanding of local government issues”.
Amardeep is currently a board member of the Colmore Business District and a governor at an all-through school in Small Heath .
