Akriti Gupta

Akriti is a third year student of Delhi University and an active young social worker working for cancer since 2015. Being one of the strongest pillars of the organisation Win Over Cancer founded by her parents, she has been counselling cancer patients, working for their skill development and providing sustainable financial livelihood and more of connecting the youth through innovative cancer awareness sessions towards this sensitive issue. She says ” If we aware the youth, remove the phobia towards cancer in their minds and make them sensitive towards the disease, the impact would be felt for generations”. Till date she has interacted with and counselled more than 300 cancer fighters and her initiatives have impacted more than 50,000 young people. In 2015 when she entered her college life she started working for underprivileged people through her college societies and the learnings from there she became a direction vision for her organisation Win Over Cancer. She directed the youth to work for the disease and has lead 150+ volunteers in period of 2 and half years. Despite of her father’s disease of cancer and difficult treatment she didn’t let her personal responsibilities come over her social initiative and work. Her efforts have been recognised by various media houses like Zee News, NavBharat Times, Asian Age, The Better India and NNS Media
