Founder, DAZL

India

Aditi Chadha is passionate about building technology that can create positive impact in people’s lives and the environment. She is the Founder and Chief Product Officer at DAZL, which builds connected devices (IOT) for the safety of women. DAZL builds confidence and fearlessness in women. It educates, detects, communicates, documents and deters attacks on women. It is a tiny and discrete connected device based on proprietary technology that allows individuals to trigger an SOS and send their location to their family at the press of a button, so they can get them the help they need. You can also opt to sound a loud alarm to diffuse an uncomfortable situation. DAZL has been seeded by Vodafone and the Government of India, and in 2017 participated in the globally number 1 ranked hardware accelerator, HAX, out of San Francisco, and raised investment from SOS Ventures, the largest VC in the technology hardware space, based out of Europe. In 2017, Aditi also won a merit scholarship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for their Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp and was sponsored by the Westerwelle Foundation for the Young Founders Program in Berlin. Aditi delivered a TEDx talk in January 2018, where she shared her Untold Chronicles while building DAZL from the ground up. Link here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7PmRktLj4w. In May 2018, Aditi is being sponsored by the UNDP and Financial Times to share her experience building technology for social impact in Hong Kong. Aditi spent more than a decade in the U.S., most recently in the Silicon Valley, where she was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and worked in Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory (TAS) and financial audits covering technology / semiconductor companies for companies such as Deloitte and Grant Thornton. The skills Aditi developed through this work enabled her to analyze opportunities at DAZL, manage margins, and convince reputed technical advisors and contract manufacturers to work with her as well as lead an interdisciplinary, cross border team across embedded hardware, software & design. In order to build out the supply chain at DAZL, Aditi traveled to Shenzhen and Malaysia to interview contract manufacturers, assess their infrastructure and capabilities, delivery track records, and arrive at the most optimal best bill of material quotations. In her free time, Aditi loves to play with her dog Badshah and spend time with her grandparents.
