Aditi Balbir is the Founder & CEO of V Resorts – an alternate accommodation provider in the leisure travel space. The company manages and operates resorts, hotels, camps, houseboats, homestays, farm-houses and any other form of stays in leisure locations for customers to holiday. Currently V Resorts offers a choice of over 70 + unique experiences in offbeat destinations across 15 states in India, each offering something local yet maintaining a global standard of service levels.
A management graduate from ISB Hyderabad & Fuqua, Duke University, Aditi Balbir founded V Resorts in 2014 and is currently the only woman heading a company in this space. She set up the platform by spearheading three successive rounds of $ 9 million funding raised from VC investors. Her contribution to V Resorts has been all encompassing, having built the business from ground up, the task being to carefully curate, develop and manage unique resort properties in India. Every V Resort is built on a sustainable platform by fully integrating the local villages through employment, the development of new skills, showcasing local handicrafts and local cuisines and sourcing the majority of the ingredients from the local markets thus providing each customer with a tourism experience that truly captures the flavor of the real India!
For her contribution in this sector, Aditi Balbir was recently recognized at the CNBC TV 18- Young Business Women Awards 2017. Aditi is also part of the top 100 women CEOs in the Fortune 100 Most Powerful Women Asia 2017 list. In 2016, Aditi was selected to be part of Dell Foundation’s top 200 women entrepreneurs across the world. She is a mentor under the prestigious Cherie Blair Foundation and has been involved in starting diagnostic clinics for women in Ethiopia. Other achievements include: shortlisted for Eisenhower Fellowship in 2016, served as Jury on Outlook Traveller awards & ASSOCHAM luxury summit, won awards such as Smart CEO Start-up 50, Safari India Best Professional in Hospitality to name a few.
