Dr. Abeer Abdel Raouf Fahim is Assistant Professor of English at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, Institute of Applied Technology, UAE. She was awarded her PhD from Durham University, England in the summer of 2012. Dr. Fahim previously worked as an Assistant Professor of English Literature at the American University of Sharjah.
She is also a public speaking expert, a Tedx speaker, and the founder and owner of the online inspirational platform Juliet Turns the Page which has over 170,000 followers on social media. Juliet Turns the Page uses literature as a tool to inspire creative thinking. Dr. Fahim is the author of the novel, Her Seven Days in Bali.
In the summer of 2017, she was a Visiting Scholar at St. John’s College, Oxford University. During her time at Oxford, she worked on her research project on narrative medicine and postmodern American fiction. She is particularly interested in the field of the medical humanities and has presented papers on the intersection of medicine and literature at many conferences around the world. Some of the conference venues include Oxford University, Harvard University, Dartmouth College, and Durham University.
