Abda Khan is a solicitor who runs her own law firm, a writer, and a public speaker. Her novel Stained (2016), was described by Booklist (USA) as the “contemporary Tess of the d’Urbervilles”. Abda’s latest novel, Razia, to be published in early 2019 by Unbound, is the story of a modern-day slave. Abda speaks nationally and internationally at literary events and festivals, international youth summits, panel talks, debates, inter-faith forums, and delivers inspirational talks at networking events, meetings, schools, universities, prisons, and charitable events, and makes regular TV and radio appearances Abda is also a School Mentor with the Princes Trust Charity Mosaic, a Mayor’s Mentor, a Trustee with two women’s charities, and an Ambassador for the Women of the Future Programme. Abda received a ‘True Honour Award’ in 2017 from IKWRO and was Highly Commended as a finalist (Arts & Culture) in the Nat West Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2017. Abda was named the ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018’ by ‘Your Saheli’. More recently, she has been nominated for a National Diversity Award and Midlands Business and Community Charity Award as a Positive Role Model.
