Senior Program Specialist, NMSU (New Mexico State University) Aggies Go Global

USA

Abby Nayra is the senior program specialist for Aggies Go Global and student programs coordinator for the Honors College—both at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She pursued her education and degrees at NMSU with an undergraduate in History and a minor in Music Performance. Abby then went on to complete her Master’s in Education: Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on World History/Social Studies, alongside an endorsement in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Born in the Philippines, she has traveled throughout southeast Asia and east Asia to explore the roots of her family’s broad heritage. She now especially looks forward to exploring the rest of the world with NMSU’s most curious minds and adventurous hearts through Aggies Go Global. Outside of academia, Abby also works as a jazz and folk musician, writing songs about self-love, love for one’s surroundings, and her love for the sea on the piano and a myriad of stringed instruments including guitar, harp, bass guitar, ukulele, and banjo. She hopes to integrate this passion for sharing music, ideas, food, and conversation around the world in a way that allows all on their journey to embody their truest self by growing with and caring for others.
