Satya R Shah

Prof S R Shah is Professor of Supply Chain and Engineering Management, and Head of Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Centre at University of Bolton. Prof Shah leads the design and development of the academic, research and degree apprenticeship programmes for Logistics and SCM at University of Bolton.

Prof Shah considers himself an Applied Research Academic (ARA) where he brings his teaching, research practices and theories to life through on and off classroom. Using Management and Business practices for Engineering he has supervised more than 200+ projects and theses. He is also a successful Programme Portfolio Specialist and through his innovative and ingenious use of programme and course mapping practices, innovative learning, and through skills and behavioral learning, he has successfully completed a record 16 successful programme validation/review events from 2015 onwards. He is currently the Academic Director of Programmes for BSc/MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Externally, Satya has been invited as an External Examiner for 30+ portfolio review and validation events within UK, Finland, Turkey, Germany, and India for taught and research programmes. Prof Shah is currently an active External Examiner at University of Hertfordshire; Leeds Beckett University and Cranfield University UK.

Along with Teaching/Learning and Academic practices, Satya also dedicates passionately towards his Research & Enterprise interests, and currently the lead supervisor of PhD projects within Supply and Demand Chain Management, Product Innovation and NPD, and Sustainable Engineering Management. He has published several articles, technical reports & reviewed international conference publications, and been chair, committee member, keynote speaker for many IEEE conferences in Industrial and Engineering Management.

Satya’s academic qualifications have been multi-disciplinary ranging from Electrical & Electronics Engineering (BEng UK); Telecommunications Engineering (MSc UK) to Business Process Management (PhD, UK) and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (MBA, UK). Prof Shah is an esteemed Fellow of Chartered Management Institute (CMI); Institute of Supply Chain Management (FSCM UK); Member of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET UK); and Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE USA).

As a passionate advocate of education, Satya dedicates his free time as Founding Director of two charitable initiatives namely “Abhyas” and “KSECT” which engages in supporting communities for educational and skills-based projects, including promotion of education for girls in rural villages in India. Satya kindly welcomes any interested applicants, businesses and collaborators for any research, enterprise and Education wide activities within his specialist areas.
