KEZY MUKIRI is the Executive Director of Ignite Trade Africa (www.ignitetradeafrica.com) – an organization that is working to promote Inclusive trade for Sustainable Development. Ignite Trade Africa works to enhance the participation of SMEs in Intra-Africa trade by building the capacity of SMEs through training and providing access to market information. She is also a senior partner at Mukiri Global Advocates (www.mga-legal.com) – a Law Firm that offers legal, tax and business consultancy services.Kezy has been an entrepreneur for over ten (10) years. She is the CEO /Founder of Zuri Events Ltd (www.zurievents.com) – a brand management and experiential marketing firm which is the leading champion of Sustainable Event Management in East Africa. In this role, she provides strategic leadership within the areas of branding, business development, marketing, risk management, resource mobilization and partnership development. A dynamic lawyer and entrepreneur, Kezy is passionate about building strong brands and sustainable enterprises on the African Continent. As an entrepreneur, she has worked closely with some of the region’s largest MNCs, government institutions, International Organizations and MSMEs. In 2015 Kezy was selected to join the Mandela Washington Fellowship. The fellowship is the flagship project of President Obama’s YALI -Young African Leaders Initiative. This opportunity gave her access to a vibrant network of young entrepreneurs across Africa. In addition, in 2015, she was selected amongst only 69 women entrepreneurs across the globe for the Vital Voices Global Partnership fellowship which seeks to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs to build sustainable enterprises and change communities. She is also an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women program. Kezy is passionate about Internationalization of Trade. She sits on the board of the Organisation of Women in International Trade (OWIT) (www.owitnairobi.org) where she facilitates access to opportunities and partnerships for local MSMEs seeking to access global markets for their products and services. She is a graduate of the University of Nairobi where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) and a Masters degree in International Relations. She was admitted to the roll of Advocates in Kenya in 2005 and has practiced Civil, Commercial and Business Law.
