Babita Baruah

Babita Baruah is Managing Partner, heading GTB India, WPP Group. She has spent 20 years in advertising with J Walter Thompson, India. She has worked in the agency’s Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi offices on a diverse portfolio from FMCG, Finance to Tech, besides being in the APAC and global JWT network teams on Unilever, Nestle and Nokia. Her last role prior to GTB was Head of PO1, an independent business unit managing PepsiCo, for JWT India. Babita is very passionate about mentoring students. She is also actively engaged in speaking and blogging in industry forums and publications. She has been part of JWT’s Worldwide Diversity Council and Women Leadership Team. In February 2016, Babita was invited to Harvard Business School for the India Marketing Conference. Mentoring women at work has been an area Babita has been very actively engaged in. She has initiated programmes at the workplace as well as spoken in industry forums on how women can be encouraged to work, and how productivity can grow exponentially with diversity and gender balance. Babita lives in Gurgaon, India. #MakeItMatter is what drives her at work and in life.
