Recently won a meritorious award for my contribution to Economic development in the Ethekwini Municipality. Won the Standard Bank Top Woman in Public Sector award in August 2017. Won Mrs Commonwealth SA 2018 for my contribution to women empowerment. Been awarded a Woman Scholarship at Oxford University for a Post graduate diploma in Global Business. In my previous role, I have been directly responsible for the management of Tourism business intelligence in a senior managerial capacity. I have been responsible for developing tourism policies and strategies for the Ethekwini Municipality. I had been responsible for the collaborative effort of managing the economic impact analysis for Tourism Indaba. I had also been responsible for conducting research on international platforms such as World Travel Market as well as at the International Travel Board in Germany and a number of International Road Shows in Europe and Africa. Was responsible for converting the research into key strategies for Tourism Market and information and to change the way in which we are perceived by the International community as a tourism destination. In addition, I have provided strategic direction to Durban tourism on how to convert International visits and trade shows into actual strategies for implementation for the purposes of improving operations, also stimulating the measurement of economic growth in the City. I believe that I am passionate about Research particularly in the industrial development sphere and have actively participated on various platforms to the extent that the Academic Conferences and Publishing Institute have agreed to bring the Conference to our City, based on my recommendations and my marketing skills. This affords the City an opportunity to have academics from Universities around the world to be on our doorstep increasing our knowledge on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
